Just reminiscing real quick. Yall know yall rocked to this for real.

Wrote this on the kick last night, as I was jsut chillen with some friends. Zoned out for a while.

THE RETURN
The gush of brisk cool air highjacks her face as she opened the door
before her nervous system had prepared itself for the small but sudden
shock, she looks back at the clock and sees that the time reads 2:39.

With the evidence of a prolonged disturbed nightly ritual on the corner
of her retinas and a bare trace of morning breath, she walked down the
the dimly lit path in front of her deluxe Brownstone, her walk with a
little conviction tone. to the luxury car double parked on the other
side of the curbside car closest to the door. The engine was on, and
the
dainty but pronound tap on the glass, made the guy inside move kinda
fast, clearly startled, he rolled the glass and was immediately
reminded of the past, a state of confusion consumed them both
simultaneoulsy, and they stared in each others eyes vicariously,
self-conciously wondering the thinking trac of the other, while
conciously attempting to hold themselves together.

The first break of a conversation was a murmur reciprocated with a
stuttered response. The once indisguisable emotions shared between the
two souls and fearless intestinal butterflies that swarmed about in
eachs stomachs returned as if they never left and she put her hands to
her face and wept. Its had been many rough nights she slept, trying to
convince herself of what was seemingly true for years, but she refused
to believe that he would leave without saying goodbye, but always kept
the fear.

He realizes that he's still in the car and hops out into the brisk air
to join his gem, embracing her with his masculinity and pulling her
into
him, but gently, never to harm her as he has done enough. He apologizes
and begans to weep himself. He says he did this for the good of their
healths.
A bird chirps, and gradually a sea of birds chirp as the sun peaks over
the trees, shining on the morning dew. They finally disengage, once she
felt like this security was here for the long-run, he glanced at his
watch and relays that its now 6:32, and gets in the car, she began to
walk into the house, head held high speaking to a higher being
expressing her gratitude as he went to park, excited for a new start.

Thought this was interesting and very sad at the same time. Always have thought this was an interesting argumenting as a Black woman, considering orginally back in the day coarse and thick hair was seen of higher value than other grades of hair. Natural hair, and all the creative things that were done to it were naturally beautiful, without TCB No-lye relaxers, and hot combs and Gold N Hot blow dryers that blow out when plugged in with the curling iron. Back in the day, they did what we do with perms with natural hair. So now who's more innovative?! uh oh America.... I say we're lazy. Me included. Now it's sad when we have 3, 4 and 5 year old girls being teased about good and bad hair. have we digressed back to year 1943? Better question...did we ever leave? Hmph. Commercialism. The Media = The Devil. Now let me say this before I get comments about how I'm hypocritical. I get perms regularly. I know that they're bad, i proceed to do it, out of mere obssession with the texture and control that toxic chemicals it now have over my hair. Ok. Got that out there.
