X.PressiVe Imagination; Life on the Rocks-My Drink of Choice

I took part in a discussion that dealt with the breakdowns of Africans vs African Americans, and it covered the different realms of what it meant to be "black". It's interesting to hear how people identify themselves in terms of race and ethnicity as well as how they percieve others that may have the same skin color pigmentation but be from a different culture. It was a very involved conversation a lot was said. Anyway, I came back to my room and put on the jams and this song crossed my mind so you know i went right on youtube to hear it lol. It was definitely one of the better productions from Styles P, in my opinion. I liked it a lot this particular video features one of the ladies from Floetry, so you know i couldn't pass it up. I LOVE Floetry.

Anywho, it was fitting for the mood I was in/am in after the conversation.



I challenge you, how do you identify with race? Do you sometimes stereotype the other sects of "Black"? Do you believe that that are different spins on what it means "to be black"?

Alright so pretty much I'm once again, I'm at one of those points where I'm feeling lost. lol. "Chelsea you're always lost, GET IT TOGETHER!" "Mannnnnn..I'm trying though." See look at me talking to myself lol. Nah but sometimes like I just don't know what's going on. Not literally, but figuratively speaking I'm somewhere out there......but all I know is my only outlet is this notebook is how I get by..No gas. What that means as far as my direction in life is something yet to decipher, but currently that's all I can turn to or all I want to turn to. I'm deadass in that book instead of other homework i'm supposed to be doing.. It's crazy..or freestyling or doing whatever. My freestyle game, straight from the dome is growing, kinda hype about that. lol alright but uhm I'm out, nothing left to say other than if you see me spaced out...let me stay there lol. I promise I might be okay. haha

Yo on some real. I'm so sick of American media for real. So many unnecesarry things are exploited for no reason. Ok, Chris and Rihanna, while I don't support domestic violence, I'd appreciate it if all fame-chasing tabloids would just chill. They're people too, a real human couple, just like you see on the street, only difference is they got money. Give me a break.

I mean while I read them from time to time, for comedy, it's sad when people deadass just think it's the bible or something, like that's all truth. These people are paid to hate, criticize, poke fun, and instigate. Get out of here, people will demolish the image and reputation of others for quick buck, please believe. Just look at 50, he does it ALL the time. Tabloid writers, Paparazzi, their job is to do such things.

It bothers me moreso that we're more concerned with that, than the 5.4 million people that have been killed in the Congo since 1998, right we never hear about that right?

Also, alright Obama's president, he's legit he made it. Get off his ass. I'm kind of sick of seeing him on EVERY channel on EVERY magazine and newspaper, under demoralizing scrutiny, because he's a black man. Give the man a break. He's human, let him do the job that yall picked him to do. Yall don't have to be in his face 24/7. Yall weren't in Bush face all the time, when yall probably should have been all that shit he was getting us into.
